You know those TV news stories where an unfeasibly young child diagnoses his babysitter’s acute angina, calls 999 and administers a life-saving adrenaline injection in the nick of time? I’ve always found them particularly grating, since I’ve long suspected that my children won’t notice my plight unless I fall unconscious on top of the TV remote.
(I should point out that an injection of adrenaline is very unlikely to be a suitable cure for this condition. I just wanted an excuse to write acute angina.)
